Day of Bitcoin-pizza. Another Record-holder.

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

Today the Bitcoin community celebrates another day of Bitcoin-pizza. Seven years ago, on May 22, 2010, a Czech enthusiast Lazlo made the first purchase for bitcoins - he transferred 10,000 BTC to his friend, who ordered him two pizzas.

Every year bitcoiners at all corners of the world eat pizza and count up how much these pizza would cost today. And year by year it's price increases. Today, the Bitcoast course set a new record, rising to $ 2,150 (and on some ranks approached $ 2,200). A simple calculation shows that each pizza today would have overtaken Hanesh more than $ 10 million - to be precise, $ 10,750,000.

Lazlo has said many times that he does not regret such an expensive purchase - he made the first commercial transaction in bitcoins and entered into the history of crypto-currency. He is dedicated to a personal page in Wikipedia, and every year his name is remembered, perhaps already by millions of people.

In May 2010, 10 000 BTC really cost 50 dollars - and only because it were found a buyer. Exchange or exchangers then not existed, the exchange occurred only P2P. BTC for this price. If Lazlo, for example, just went out on the same day and offered his first counter-delivery of $ 50 for some "bitcoins" -he would have happily escaped, if he did not know his own happiness, the passer-by did not call the police.

Many "early adherents" Bitcoin sold their coins for several dollars or even cents - but they created the economy of the Crypto-currency. And if you are going to eat pizza today, even if you did not pay for it with bitcoins, remember Lazlo Hanesha and all those who promoted Bitcoin's philosophy without thinking about the lost millions in the distant future.
