Dangers of NOT Being Financially Free

For the purpose of this writing, being financially free refers to one being able to control his or hers finances and spending habits without the control of governments, banks or the tax-man. The history of money not only has changed over time but we as a people have given up basic freedoms for the sake of convenience, without even realizing it. Surely no-one can be blamed, it is far easier to whip out the ol credit card for purchases, it’s much easier than holing cash, coin or that relic we call a checkbook. But beware these steps lead us down the dark dreary path of a cashless society.
Now let’s skip all the bible quotes, Satan talk, and just focus on the pitfalls of government control, ha, which I guess brings the other two mentions right back into the picture “JK”. So let’s quickly take a look at where the world is headed as far as traditional money is concerned (Sweden Close to Becoming Cashless) and the attempts to make (India Cashless) which had an effect on the poor and there’s (several more). Even the US of A has in the works to get rid of our 100 dollar notes along with our 50s, and as usual it’s always in the name of fighting terrorism, money laundering from drug dealers, or evading taxes, and of course it’s always for our own good. But how can that effect citizens once we move to using exclusively plastic?
Folks it’s all about control, once we lose the freedom that cash offers us, then we become willing slaves to our master, now think about it, once we all move to a digital form of payment, we are at the mercy of those controlling it. It they want to impose a tax, they simply just remove it from our account, if one gets in trouble with the laws, that same account can be frozen, or penalties and fines automatically removed. Now don’t worry about house payments, utilities, or license fees, they’ll make it simple for you by just doing it for you, and not to mention they will help you keep track of every dollar spent, so your taxes will be accurate and honest. Now on the flip side cash can still give someone freedom to be private and control your own financial destiny, without the help of big brother.
So where am I headed with all this mumbo jumbo, well here’s the option confronting us at this point in time. We can either continue to support centralized banking systems where the set the rules, regulation, and decisions for everyone like they’ve done for the last 100 years or more, or we can support a decentralized system in which we take back control. Let me explain. Thanks to Bitcoin and the use of Blockchain technology, we have the ability, or soon to, are able to get out from under the control of bankers and governments. If someone let’s say has an online wallet containing Bitcoin (BTC) and another has one in Japan, then they can transact payments in the matter of seconds, with little fees in doing so, whereas with our traditional for of cross border payments, mat take three or four days and cost up to thirty or forty dollars to wire those funds. No one gives permission, or sets limits on the amount one can send, or reports to the tax man if you sent over the limit that they say might be illegal. I think you’re catching where I’m headed with all this, and that there are other benefits to Bitcoin than just speculation and making huge profits, there is freedom within this movement, a freedom we need to take back control of our own financial destiny, may God bless us all to that end.
