Micro-Raiden goes LIVE on the Ethereum Mainnet!

Exciting news for Ethereum and Raiden Network enthusiasts: Micro-raiden has just gone live on the Ethereum mainnet! Micro-raiden is the precursor to the Raiden network, and will allow for scaling through lightning fast and cheap payment channels.

Micro-Raiden differs from Raiden in the sense that Micro Raiden is a smaller scale version of the Raiden Network. It allows for a single service provider to open up (multiple) payment channels between itself and it's users. Raiden Network itself is an enhanced version of that which also allows for payment channels in between different networks.

Micro-raiden is the first usable scaling solution for Ethereum that allows for micro-transactions. It will allow for, for example, pay-per-minute constructions instead of single payments, and will probably be one of the first tools developers have in actually making Ethereum usable.

I am not sure if this news is better for Ethereum holders or for RDN token holders, but the market seems to have decided it is the latter. I think it is a great step for ETH as well though.

Sadly, I sold my small stash of RDN tokens a while ago in a desperate attempt for some BTC profits. I will be looking for a way back in, because I do believe the Raiden Network has a bright future ahead of it.

    Sounds like good news but the market seems underwhelmed. ETH is still in a holding pattern hope it breaks out soon.

    I hope so too but I really think it must happen soon. The entire altcoin market is so suppressed for so long now, I feel that we're due for a serious leg up. Ethereum in particular has had some serious upgrades and exciting things happening, and it's got so many developers and corporate backing by now I can't imagine it's not going to grow. The question though is if it's going to grow as fast as Bitcoin..

      Im not an expert..but Id think the increasing usability of ETH bodes well for it. BTC seems to be getting less usable by the day. Thanks @pandorasbox
