I present to you, a tiny smallcap cryptocurrency with potentially massive upside: Dovu. Dovu is an interesting project which aims to streamline the information that transport vehicles collect and create an online marketplace where you own your own data and are able to sell it online through the blockchain.

This sounds a bit dry and vague, I agree. But this project has caught my attention when I heard Crypto Rap Up mention it in his cryptocurrency rap song. From listening to the rap I decided this rapper knows his crypto, so when he rapped about Dovu being crypto's best kept secret I decided perhaps I should look into it.

So the premise to Dovu is that the automobile and transport industry is rapidly going digital and nowadays cars collect all kinds of data: How many miles were driven and where, what speeds, wether it's raining, how many passengers are inside, how often are you pressing the brakes. All this information is valuable and usable by corporations who would like to know statistics and do research on these issues. Through this data companies could create prediction models, distill weather or traffic congestion and all kinds of tools that large corporations love. It is said that modern cars already produce massive amounts of data already, all which can be tokenized. Once tokenized, ownership is given to you the owner and through the blockchain you can opt to sell your data on a decentralized marketplace.

In essense, I thought this sounds a little bit like Basic Attention Token, but in the real world instead of virtual. The way this would work is that you could opt in to selling your data, and just by driving around you would be earning rewards in the form of cryptocurrency because you allow your data to be shared. This is similar to how BAT lets users earn crypto by simply surfing the web and giving ownership to users.

What is most interesting about the Dovu project are a few things:

• They have backing from Jaguar Landrover, one of the world's bigger car producers, which specializes in high-end cars that probably do indeed have a lot of digital gadgets nowadays
• They are being advised by a former board of directorsmember of Ethereum
• THE CURRENT TOTAL MARKET CAP IS ONLY $5 MILLION USD (!)

The team itself doesn't appear to have it's roots in the blockchain space, but rather comes from the transport industry. This can be a good and bad thing: Do they know wtf they are talking about and can they do it? But on the other hand, they are probably a lot more at home in the world of large corporations, have good connections and speak corporate-speak. They have their own Youtube channel and various members of their team talk about Dovu, it is clear none of them are really tech-nerds and all of them are corporate types.

The $5 million dollar market cap is what really pulls me in though! That's super low! If it goes to $20 million that's a 4x gain on your investment already... and what crypto these days doesn't make it there? With Jaguar Landrover backing it, doesn't it seem likely to you as well that this crypto should/will be worth several times more than it is today? Could there be a chance of Dovu reaching $100 million, still a tiny number all things considered? Then investing now would mean a whopping 20x gain! Now, that sounds interesting to me.

But I have some concerns too.

Firstly, it all sounds fine and dandy but if the token is to have a good value then it all depends on adoption. Jaguar Landrover is a fine and reputable company, but it's only one company and there are many more in the world. How many people do you know that drive in a Jaguar or Landrover? Right.. not that many. How many of those rich people will be opting in to share their data to make a few dollars? I don't think they care about 'a few dollars' if they can afford such an expensive car.

Secondly, even if the system is an interesting one, I do believe the world isn't quite there yet. Most cars aren't nearly advanced enough to handle Dovu integration - I know my car isn't and it will probably only apply to new models. How many years will it take for the world to be compromised mainly of electric and digital vehicles? It could take 10, 20 years, still before the old cars are phased out. And in that time, can we be sure that Dovu will make it to all the new vehicles or will there be competitors (maybe though IOTA, something like Dovu can be done as well).

Still, I can't shake that $5 million market cap. It seems so low for a company that has a major player backing it, and I do believe I read somewhere that Dovu received a government grant from the UK government as well.
