PicsArt_05-17-01.27.14.jpgGuys in the next 24 hours I think we will know something .. we will know which altcoins is ready to be the next bitcoin. Bitcoin became number one because it was first and did it gradually over 10 years but that's only because it had limited popularity, this whole new era of and altcoins hitting the roof is causing alot allot of publicity into the crypto world and general public! Word of mouth - One person tells another and one person looks it up and creates a wallet and tells another... PicsArt_05-17-01.30.01.jpg
It's booming! Bitcoins dominance is lessening so I don't think I would hold bitcoin long term. I still have a good amount of Bitcoin but I do treat it like any other crypto nower days. Especially when new users come in and see that other coins have quicker transactions. I'm waiting on a transaction for 20cent from mining bitcoin for 6 hours now lol. Time is money expecially now that some alts cost less than 20cents and are booming ! I keep selling half my bitcoin high and buying low. For USD and Euros. (Treating it like any other crypyo)

Here's the thing about ripple that I think appeals ... yes I know crypto is meant to be is meant to be decentralized and thats the way it shall be and ethereum might be favourable because of this but, we are creatures of comfort. It will take a long time for people to want to get rid of money entirely. We like money. We like paper money and we are comfortable with it. When it comes to quickest transaction fees person to person paper money is instant, instantaneous!! Wanna give your child some money? "There you go son, Zero transaction fees".
-Thats hand to hand transactons. When one pays for their shopping via their debit card its still very nearly just as quick!
So heres my understanding.. banks and paper money aren't going nowhere anytime soon! So it will be much better for a currency to make it that caters for them instead of goes against them.
Ripple might very easily take that number one spot!

It seems to me that there two ideologies or concepts fighting it out in the cryptocoin world right now. One is the centralized blockchain technology like Ripple and the other is the fully decentralized even anonymous transactions like Monero. Bitcoin and most other cryptos are actually just in between as their transactions are in public ledger and still can be traced.

Ripple's value skyrocketed due to its alliances with major banks and the fear that other cryptos can be used for criminal transactions.

Each has its own advantages and my best bet is to keep both. Don't take sides and just see how everything will evolve later on.

Indeed this is true. But bitcoin is costing me alot of money when it comes to transaction fees and time!

Agree, Bitcoin is gearing towards big transactions so you won't mind the fees (proportionally small) for fast transactions... but Bitcoin is still the easiest to exchange to local currency compared to other cryptos. Maybe later on as altcoins can be directly exchanged to local currencies or for direct purchases, then we will have a different scenario. I also like Stellar as they are into money transfer projects...

I think it's very bad news when Ripple takes the number one spot. With Bitcoin out of it's way goverments en banks can easily make their own coins and go mainstream with it.

Nobody in the 'normal' world outside ever hear about Ripple.
