CARDANO ( ADA ) is the 17th coin on coinmarket just 3 days after listing

ADA is here to fight for space with the lead player of smart contracts - Ethereum. It's CEO is a former CEO of Ethereum - Charles Hoskinson.
Ada is now trading on Bittrex and as of today it's the 17th coin on coinmarketcap.com with a value of about 500 million USD.
This is a very huge valuation for a new coin and we are yet to see if it lives up to its promise .

ADA functions as a cryptocurrency and a smart contract platform while meeting the needs for increasing regulatory oversight in the blockchain space

A maximum of only 45 billion Ada will ever be in circulation, currently circulation is at about 24 billion, yes billion...almost like Ripple with 34 billion in circulation.

Why the large number of coins ? I can't seem to see the logic behind it but the team behind ADA have lots of experience and knowhow.
