Interview with Bryce Weiner: CEO of AltMarket

Everyone wants to be a rockstar, but the music industry can be a daunting place to have success if you don’t have the contacts or the platform to get yourself to the masses. A lot of young musicians waste tons of money and time trying to develop their careers, and very few end up with a record deal.

AltMarket™ is a peer-to-peer trading and fundraising platform that offers products and features that specifically serve the needs of the mainstream entertainment industry. It was created by Bryce Weiner and it’s willing to give a little help to those people who may not even have a clue about how to start their careers in the music industry. We had a little chat with Bryce, and this is how it went!

Hodlnews: Can you please introduce yourself and give us a little summary about your job with Tao Blockchain and AltMarket?

Bryce: First, please let me say how honored I am to answer these questions. I’m the CEO of AltMarket, Inc., a new exchange platform catering to the entertainment industry and general public and the designer and lead developer of Tao blockchain (symbol: XTO).

Hodlnews: What is your background in the Blockchain and Cryptocurrency industry?

Bryce: I’ve been around for a long time. As some have put it, I’ve been creating altcoins longer than most people have heard of Bitcoin. I’ve taken a great deal of pride in being one who never shied away from criticism and making myself accessible to the public, and I like to consider myself as one of those who helped to build the markets into what they are today.

Hodlnews: What did you see in the music industry that made you realize that you wanted to make a fusion with the Blockchain technology to create innovation?

Bryce: Part of the Bitcoin consensus mechanism is the validation that you have the right to assign a token to someone else. This single fact of blockchain operation enables a tremendous opportunity for rights management applications, which have been a struggle in not only the music industry but intellectual property in general and also real estate. Anywhere you need a record of who-has-the-right-to-do-something-with-something-else and a means to reassign those rights, a blockchain is a great solution.

Hodlnews: What are your expectations about the future of the Tao Blockchain and AltMarket in the next few years?

Bryce: We’ve recently signed a five-year exclusive contract to render celebrity brands as cryptocurrency tokens. If you remember KanyeCoin, think of it similar to that but if it was actually launched by Kanye West. We are bringing Hollywood to crypto. AltMarket is the platform, and XTO becomes a "backstage pass" where those who hold a certain amount get the right to interact with the celebrities in person and enjoy other exclusive offers for XTO holders, only.

Hodlnews: Can you give a little advice to those readers that are interested in the Music/Blockchain innovation?

Bryce: Take the time to learn the needs of those whom you wish to serve, both in the industry you want to disrupt and the customers you hope to capture as a result. Then you’ll build a product that people won’t just want to use, but demand to use.
