Nvidia on Cryptocurrency - The Verge Of A Revolution
Gee, wouldn't you love to be NVIDIA at the moment.
Riding the Crypto wave into the sunset. Their inventory is depleted thanks to our lovely Eastern European friends and Chinese buying up big to begin their mining efforts.
It's a unique and strange position to be in for a NVIDIA. Why do I think this? Well you have to consider what their technology was developed for in the first place, no one in their wildest dreams could have predicted the dramatic revolution that Cryptocurrency could potentially cause.
This is just the beginning. As miners become more demanding it begs the question will we see innovative new startups focus emerge that can help miners in brand new ways?
Although there has been major progressions, it's going to be one exciting progression to witness over the coming years to see the flow on effects of Cryptocurrency into other areas of life.
There is nothing quite like seeing a piece of technology being reinvented and applied in a whole new way. This is how major innovation occurs.
This time its all thanks to Crypto.
Nvidia is smart by creating the miner specific card which sell at lower price but the calculation power remains similar to the gaming 1060. If mining suddenly becomes unprofitable, people will dump their mining card which will be picked up by the gamer. Amd might be hard to promote new card at that time. Nvidia impact will be less because the n series card perform less well compare to amd on mining.
Interesting, profitability over the years on mining is obviously exposed to fluctuation. I think the general interest coming from newcomers into this world, will continue to grow. This will allow more and more mining to take place and crypto's to emerge. Either way, I feel like both of them are probably gearing up and see the writing on the wall which says massive opportunity. It's going to be a long term play...this whole game is.
