Understanding Conversion

I was wondering if someone could help me understand a bit what is going on here. I had some technical difficulties getting my deposit to show in my steemit wallet. I originally sent a grand total of 0.00521961 BTC through coinbase to the address provided for my steem wallet. Yet I was only given about 7.134 steem. I am trying to understand how I have only been given credit for half of my total transfer.
