Mooniz — The reward Token has just been launched!
Our Mooniz token is now available
It’s been a really busy start to the year with the focus being on some major back end development work. Today Mooniz token, one of the many building blocks paving our roadmap is live and ready to help create a new rewards ecosystem. We hope to give you a better understanding of what we’re doing in this announcement.
What is Mooniz exactly?
Mooniz is the Token digital publishers can use to reward their audience for sharing some of their spare CPU power when they use their services. Mooniz token materialises the user’s effort which can be redeemed for digital content, games and much more. Users essentially contribute via their CPU power to different online projects and the very fact that users get something in return makes this whole process more efficient.
Mooniz has all the characteristics of a stable coin. Rather than being back by fiat currency, its value is backed by users’ CPUs that mine XMR and ETN within our network. Mooniz's issuance is result of Monero’s underlying PoW consensus mechanism and each cent of mined XMR is the equivalent of 100 Mooniz. To be totally transparent the initial version of Mooniz has not been built on top of a blockchain and the reasons are twofold:
- We needed it to be easily transferable without fees (we’re talking microtransactions).
- As far as we know, there are no secure blockchains with 0 fees.
Why are we doing this?
Moonify decided to create Mooniz for a few reasons. Firstly, as a demonstration of how innovative it can be to earn something tangible with CPU power. Secondly, we wanted to show what can be achieved when users consent to CPU sharing. The third reason is that, some of our competitors have resorted to malware practices of cryptojacking (the use of someone’s CPU power without their consent). At Moonify, we want to change this and strive to build an ecosystem that encourages and rewards user participation in a compliant and ethical manner.
Mooniz signup
For users, there is a signup form that can be accessed from the sign-in button from the Mooniz website. The process is simple in order to quickly get started. As soon as they sign up they can start earning Mooniz tokens.
To help encourage development of the ecosystem, we’re initially redistributing 100% of our earnings to users. To illustrate this: 70% of the generated revenue is distributed to content providers (as XMR tokens). In addition the remaining 30% will be given to users as Mooniz.
Eventually content providers can decide to give a portion of their 70% commission back to their users as Mooniz to incentivize them (a simple slide bar makes this process very easy)
Using Mooniz App is a more powerful and efficient way to monetize content and it offers a different distribution model. 60% is redistributed to users as Mooniz tokens and content providers keep 40% as XMR.
What can the Mooniz tokens be used for?
The first place you can redeem Mooniz is on http://loot.game/. This website allows you to earn games just by participating with your CPU power. Once enough Mooniz has been collected, they can be redeemed for games. The more users that come to the website, the quicker games can be unlocked. A referral program is available, you’ll earn 5% of your affiliates production.
