Could Charlie Lee's departure from Coinbase to focus on the development of Litecoin mean good times ahead?
Litecoin rejuvenated?
I noticed yesterday that Litecoin's creator Charlie Lee will soon leave his post as technical director at Coinbase to return to the project development of his beloved old coin. He announced this on Twitter:
Charlie Lee has worked at Coinbase since 2013. About a month before Lee's departure, Coinbase did indeed add support for Litecoin.
Recall, the Litecoin team published a comprehensive roadmap in May, and with their new Lightning Network and faster transaction times, this is a coin to watch over the coming months. Personally I look forward to seeing this tabby cat roar once again!!
Bitcoin is too slow for general public use, ETH is too slow as well, that leaves DASH or Litecoin. Dash and LTC are ready for public use, so these two coins are now competing for the top spot to use in stores, banks, purchases, anything else that's instant payment. Litecoins seems like the major player so far.
I would say cryptonight coins are the fastest and most secure but its up to the exchanges to add them, which they don't. Eth coins are great for business purposes but these coins are very slow like bitcoin, but somehow eth coins keep getting added to every exchange, when cryptonight coins are ready for the public use.
BTC just hit $3K this morning @bola, and if the network falters in anyway in the future, LTC will be there lightning fast - excuse the pun! I fully expect LTC to hit $40 v.soon :)
All I know is transactions in Litecoin have been lightning fast when I have used it

From what I understand this is pretty decent news. It's curious to me to see how much interest there are in different crypto 'personalities' that work in the industry. Looking forward to seeing the Litecoin kitty purr as well ;)

Funny, I was thinking about getting some yesterday, kicking myself a bit now. What do you think, should I wait for a downturn or do you think it's going to trend up for awhile? I could buy in a bit now . . .
It's consolidating right now so it's safe to buy. It WILL start trending soon though, so get on for the ride!!

@mindhunter I agree with your post as well as all your comments! Litecoin is quickly becoming my currency of choice. ETH has seen a massive bubble appear, because a majority of the icos have been heavily over inflated and have not even proven themselves yet. BTC is always gonna be strong but jesus they need to get their act together.. This allows for slow moving development such as Litecoin, to catch up and eventually win over with a sturdy fundamental background that people trust
