Post 2 - Building Mining Rig - GPU

Here I sit, with another evening going by, as I read up on the latest GPUs. There has obviously been a serious run by miners worldwide on GPUs and driving up the costs.

Where to start?

My goal is to incrementally build this rig, starting in the shallow end with 1 or 2 GPUs. Swim a bit, get use to the nomenclature and then jump into the deep shark infested waters. From my research there are a number of quality GPUs out there and I potentially don't have to go for the most expensive one.

The 1080ti 11GB appears to be the highest quality and relatively expensive GPU, currently priced at over $1000. The 1080 being only slightly less expensive at around $900. However, the 1060 seem to price around $400 to $470. I could potentially buy 2 or 3 1060 GPU for the price of 1 1080 to.

Here is the quandary, to start this mining endeavor on the less expensive side with 2 or 3 1060s or maybe even another recommendation? Or, to dove in with a 1080 ti or another high end card?

I am open to suggestions, criticism and overall comments.
