Cryptocurrency with real uses and potential!

Tis the age of the use case.

Let's face it if you were an investor in many of the Ethereum based coins and other ICO's that came out last year you may or may not have made a killing on the come up or lost it all on the correction. This is likely due to the fact that most of those coins did not have valid use cases or platforms that were active. Now its time to be an intelligent investor and choose cryptocurrencies that have active platforms and tangible uses. I personally steer clear of coins with platforms "in development" because it is too high of a probability that the coin will fail. My preference is to choose coins with strong communities and tangible services.

My to 5 crypto's

1. Dash: This cryptocurrency is one of the most popular crypto's and has garnered a community that truly appreciates the asset. This crypto has built-in democratic measures to ensure that it continues to develop and keeps its community strong. With its ability to do public or private transactions and also to generate instant transactions its platform is constantly evolving with the future in mind.

1. Ethereum: This is the most well-known cryptocurrency platform that is used for token creation. Ethereum is part of the reason we saw such a huge run-up in the market in 2017. As ICO's flooded the scene prices skyrocket because demand by ETH grew exponentially. Now that the competition has started to catch up we may see Ethereum's market dominance start to slide.

1. Stellar: This is another tokenization platform but it is geared towards addressing the huge issues with remittances especially across borders. With stellar users can deposit their local currency and exchange it with others via the Stellar decentralized exchange. Their token XLM is used as an intermediary for these transactions. Companies like IBM and Stripe are invested and working to integrate stellar into their systems. This platform has a strong team and great community behind it so keep an eye out for it in the future

1. Cardano: This platform is a direct competitor with Ethereum and hopes to slice some of that market cap from the current champion. This smart contract platform seeks to offer better scalability and increased security over its ERC20 counterpart. The userbase of Cardano is growing and the platform shows quite a bit of promise in the future.

1. Basic Atten Token: This asset is the currency of the Brave browser and it provides users the opportunity to participate in the ecosystem build around the brave browser. This platform is already beyond 3 million daily users and as time goes on the team has been steadily releasing updates for the community. Soon general users will be able to op into a program where they can get paid to VIEW ADS! This one is last because it is one of my favorite platforms to use, I'm on it right now actually :). BAT may be worth keeping an eye on if it can continue pulling away more of Google's market share.

Honorable mention

Here are some coins with active platforms that I still need to learn more about

• AUGR: the predictive market crypto that launched it main net in 2018.

• EOS: A smart contract platform dubbed the Ethereum killer

• Presearch: A search engine that pays you in crypto for doing searches

• 0x: An Erc20 token created to facilitate the decentralized trading of other ERC 20 tokens

*Komodo: This is a smartcontract platform that also provides privacy features and security for other blockchains

So there you have it some of the coins I think have valid and active use cases that are likely to contribute to their rise in the future.
