Bring on lightning network, atomic swaps. Torrent like off chain transactions that avoid a central exchange will bring a reliable safeness to transactions. This would have the added benefit of making Joe Blogs feel safer transacting. Lightning network will release on Litecoin first, so we'll soon see if it is something that can be applied to Bitcoin.
