Hi. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I didn't know if you use ginabot or not, and if you didn't, then you wouldn't have known I replied.
I'm sending you a message here since it's more 'private'. I asked my friend to look at your page. He's a Curator from the group curie. They pretty much can take your post to trending with their upvote, making it $100+. Sadly, they will only accept posts that are original content for Steemit. Your other posts from History Buff wouldn't qualify.
Just wanted to let you know to get your creative juices going. :) There are no guarantees that a post will be selected by curie, but at least it's good to know someone will be noticing your work. He is also a team member for our initiative, so continue using our tag so he can pick it up.
I just found your replies on the reply tab on my profile. Oh wow, that's amazing, thank you so much! I'm so honored that you did that. I was actually just looking at the Curie account today. I'll start working on a new research project and try to come up with something Curie-worthy. I have some half finished projects and a few ideas I've been kicking around in my head that might fit the bill.
I published something that I wrote yesterday just for Steemit that I thought was really good but so far it doesn't seem to have picked up any traction! I suppose it's all trial and error.
It really is a hit or miss. Sometimes a curie vote happens once only and other times the author may be hit a few times. It depends if the Curator looking at the post is willing to use their set weekly allotment on your post. The Curator has to pitch the idea and the post must strongly reasonate with them in some way.
The posts I've seen selected are personal stories. Very lengthy ones too. Has some emotional aspect or other. Keep meeting people and stay true to yourself and write about your interests. I try to keep an eye out for good newbies, but I honestly don't know what exactly they look for. A combination of writing style and consistent good posts I think. They also want to know the individual along with the written words. My teammate had a good post that nearly got considered for curie review until they found out we were a group account. Group accounts are not allowed because identity is equally as important as the post.
Also remember, a lot of people on here are Millenials. Many may not have heard of Themestreams, and the few who may have probably did not read your post because it's mixed in with all the other good and junk posts out there. The best step to take as a newbie is to go talk to others that share your same interests. Read their posts, comment, and get to know them. They'll stop by your blog if they like you too.
And every now and then, produce a kick-ass post.
For example, I love this one. Probably because I'm a mom and can relate. Some Curators stopped by to look and voted, but it didn't get picked for a curie vote. Could be that he doesn't have a long writing history on here. Who knows. I still think it's a beautiful post.
Congratulations @malloryblythe, you have decided to take the next big step with your first post! The Steem Network Team wishes you a great time among this awesome community.

Do you already know that awesome content will get great profits by following these simple steps, that have been worked out by experts?
Excellent comparison between these two. I bought $COSS at the ICO because it sounded like a good business plan. I have about 8000 now and that only yields around $2 per week. That aspect is almost pointless (as you pointed out). Possible that will change over time, but we have less patience in the crypto world.
The other thing is that there isn’t very much liquidity in the COSS market. Coins they list are more expensive than other exchanges because there are fewer buyers and sellers. I have some loser coins on COSS I can barely sell at a fraction of what I paid.
I hope the exchange grows, and there does seem to be some activity with the site and app. I plan to HODL.
Thanks! I'm so jealous that you managed to get so much at ICO! I've actually been doing some work for them and the gears are definitely in motion. (I hadn't been working with them when I wrote this, or else I would have provided a disclaimer.) I think that after what happened with the last UI launch they're cautious about putting things out before they're fully ready, which I can appreciate. You're right that it's harder to be patient in an industry that moves so quickly, though.

Best!
You can actually go check out his page and see how he determines if a post should be submitted to curie. His username is randomwanderings.
