EQUI Capital —Revolutionizing the Venture Capital Industry through Blockchain

When you hear the term “Venture Capitalist”, you would normally think of private firms, consortiums and high net worth Individuals. Historically, the barriers to entry associated with this space has been high, with a huge amount of information asymmetry involved. What this ultimately means is that a commoner with limited industry connection shall never be able to enjoy the fruits of investing in a high potential startup or team. One of the greatest advantages of blockchain technology and decentralized systems that are built on top of it is that they allow for the distribution of power and assets into the hands of the common man without geographical barriers. EQUI is a great idea that utilizes the basic principles of blockchain and decentralized ledger technology to create an ecosystem where private equity opportunities are accessible to individuals all around the world and not just the elite.

The project is the brainchild of Doug Barrowman, a notable Scottish businessman with over 30 years in the Venture Capitalist space. EQUI will provide investment opportunities for individuals across diverse fields, but the primary focus will be on the technology sector i.e companies that build on disruptive technologies such as Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence among others. Doug has managed to assemble some of the most brilliant innovators into a team that will work together to provide extensive business knowledge, guidance, and insights to the ventures that will be funded through the platform. Built on the Ethereum Network and using a native utility token, the EQUI will become a state-of-the-art investment platform that will revolutionizee the venture capital industry.

The ERC-20 based EQUI tokens will give the individuals access to EQUI investment platform. The utility and value of the EQUI tokens will vary depending on how the individuals interact within the EQUI ecosystem. Individuals may assume the role of;

Investors, who transfer their EQUI tokens to the platform and pledge the tokens towards investment in projects for a certain time. The investment decisions are completely flexible and can be carried out according to the personal preferences of the individuals. Investors are entitled to a share equal to 75% of the net profits. Further, investors are part of the EQUI token loyalty program which will involve the transfer of bonus tokens annually to them.
Holders, who transfer EQUI tokens to the platform but do not pledge the tokens towards investment in projects. Holders are also part of the EQUI token loyalty program which will enable them to receive bonus tokens annually.
Traders, whose tokens remain outside the platform. They are not entitled to investment opportunities nor the loyalty program. Their concern will exclusively be token price growth. However, a trader may move the EQUI tokens back onto the EQUI platform to assume the role of either investor or a holder.

EQUI platform is proposed as a web-based application that will be accessible through different web browsers. The platform will be built on top of the Ethereum network making use smart contracts written in Solidity. The individuals (Investors & Holders) who intend to use the EQUI platform will be subject to Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures. Every project investment on the platform will have a corresponding smart contract to execute the deal. Upon completion of a project, investors will receive their equivalent share in Ether, deposited into the EQUI wallet.
