Ethorse project update — February 19, 2018
Not my article, but I'm sharing here to raise awareness. With ETHORSE gearing up for mainet launch, now is the time to get in!

Server-side migration
We have moved the dApp hosting from GitHub pages to a full-fledged server. We will not be using the GitHub link to access the dApp anymore. This helps in avoiding service interruptions from GitHub akin to what has happened to Etherdelta in the past. It also helps in better privacy, security and scalability. The server setup has been completed. We are running and deploying the frontend React Js code and the ethorse-bridge in our server. For intermediate data storage, mongoDB is being used. The code will remain open source using the same Github repositories.
UI and frontend updates
The work in progress screenshot we shared in the last update is now brought to life. The updates are public on Github. We are saving a few minor features to release later as they are taking more time to perfect. We have also been making big changes in the frontend to accommodate the new UI and handle additional information from the races that are deployed.
Release
We are now able to run the race successfully on the Kovan Testnet. The dApp will not be running on the Ropsten Testnet because of the issues mentioned in the past. We will be launching on Kovan Testnet with all new updates to the public in less than a week. We are doing a final round of debugging with minor UI related bugs. We have also started private code audit of the smart contract with a few Solidity experts. We will be doing a public bug bounty before the Mainnet release to ensure the security. This release will have two 24hr races and two 1hr races every day. Based on the user feedback, we will continue to add more races with the ability to bet on more than 3 coins. The dividends accumulation will start with this release, with first quarterly dividend payout in 3 months after the release.
After all progress we made in the last few weeks, we are excited about the Ethorse dApp coming close to a Mainnet release soon. We don’t have an exact Mainnet release date yet as it depends on the audit results and bug bounty. Since we have crossed all the major hurdles, we don’t expect any delay.
