I think the fall in the price was due to the fact that during the end of the year many small and large investors make purchases worldwide, many of them having the money invested in BTC, months ago, there was also movement due to the whale stocks to generate profits by buying down.
I think the BTC will reach $30,000 by the first quarter of 2018. ;)
