XMAX: A developer friendly blockchain, focused on the hard stuff
It's not every day a platform sets itself apart from the rest, I've seen dozens of crypto platforms say they are going to be different but it's always the same routine, of marketing and splashy graphics but no real difference in whats being offered. When I came across XMax I was intrigued by their focus on aspects of crypto that had oft been seen as a difficulty in previous networks with games like cryptokittys taking even large networks like Ethereum down to its knees in the past.
Seeing a network not only plan for gaming on blockchain but announce that it's a key target that they are looking to support was quite astonishing to me. Taking the stance of supporting platforms and DApps most networks avoid was only the first news that peaked my interest, networks often say they will support amazing things. What really took me by surprise was the XMax team's strong emphasis on developers first, and development tools first.
In the past networks, I've watched come from early betas to mainnet launches, what's always been consistent is the massive advertising, and minor follow up with what basically amounted to rebranded copies of previous networks. But looking through the XMax site and GitHub shows a team that has plans to set itself apart. The team puts much larger emphasis on the developer experience and ease of entry for them to the blockchain network.
It reminds me a lot of how Microsoft sees it's product development, they build platforms and provide exceptional development tools and accessories that make developing on their platform a pleasure to use and develop for. I imagine that the fostering of developers worked great for Microsoft I get the feeling that this could easily hold true for the gaming and entertainment industry when it comes to blockchain networks, as XMax takes that stance and tries to ease entry into blockchain networked gaming and entertainment by providing not only a good environment but a developer first experience.
Time will tell if they are rewarded with the developers adopting their platform and experiencing what it has to offer for gaming and entertainment projects. But the team looks to be making every effort to remove all roadblocks to make the developer transition to blockchain as easy as possible.
With the release of the WebX.js platform, developers can write in a javascript type language that so much of the developing world is used to, without the need to relearn an entirely new language and platform from the ground up. The team's active development of a number of features that should also increase ease of development.
Game and Entertainment DAPP SDK's will allow for ease of integration and speed development, combined with Smart Contract and DAPP Templates all meant to speed the developers experience from code to real game and entertainment application usage. Tie that together with an advanced 3d Game Engine, API's and Extensive Developer documentation.
With the above realized you begin to see something that shapes up to be not just your average blockchain development team, but a team that's choosing to put marketing and cheap thrills below a solid developers experience and focusing on what really matters, the platform and the things that will help people utilize the platform in the long run.
For more information check out the teams website or jump straight to their GitHub as they begin to publish code, they also have a whitepaper that describes how the team
Have to say this is definitly one of my favorites at the moment, from talking to people related to the project the effort they are going to put into making it easy for game developers to make use of the platform and transition into blockchain i get the feeling the network is going to be huge.
I agree with you. This will be a huge network. Popularity of online games is growing very fast.
Exactly, if they could somehow find a way to integrate it with mobile gaming as well, it could be massive.
Nice suggestion I think they'll integrate it on mobile in time.
Its just a start and I think slowly they will move to mobile gaming as well.
Nice thought there; I think that would be possible using their proposition since you will just plug to the platform regardless of the entry point type
Yes, that's the good thing about this project, is not easy for developers to get funds for there projects and even if they do, is still not easy to start developing a game app from scratch, so this project is helping them in a lot of ways
It will be great to develop for xmax. I believe the platform will ease development and reduce dev time
XMax have ready templates which will make help developers to save their time.
Wow that's great it means as a developer I don't have to worry about developing template. Awesome
Wow... Xmax are really making development on their platform really easy. Nice to know.
They even have their own development environment - a special soft for creating programming stuff in user-friendly conditions.
Yea, it will create the needed environment for developers to fully explore there potentials and deliver top notch games that will be highly rated
Came across a tweet from someone who said that the there are documentation on the platform for every of their tools teaching how to use them. This can help rookies start up developing career
A project with its own language built under Javascript that enables developers easily develop their applications.. It is a good one for me.
It is interesting to see decentralization hitting game devs. I mean distribution has been around but it is great to also decentralization hitting that arena.
i watched a video about game ideas using blockchains as more than just ingame currencies and their really are some great chain based game ideas floating around
Thanks for the writeup. It's an interesting project they have going, saw some absolutely massive buy orders on the exchange last night as well.
Yep this is telling high demand and commitments via buy orders is a really good sign of the health going forward hoping we see volume increase over time

It's great to see the team have good experience, Alex Nikolaev - the founder of Forseti which is actually a really impressive company with a working security product too.
The founder of Forseti is in their team! Wow, I didn't know that. Just checked their website, yes, it's him. Great to see such tough guys working for Xmax!
Yeah Forseti is actually really impressive, take a look at their working products already. it goes to show the team do have a high wealth of knowledge. Refreshing to see
Haha. Funny title you gat there. Nice write though. In comparing the XMax Platform with that of Microsoft which you mentioned in your article, what will be your expectations in terms of performance??
I was looking for a whitepaper this provided the opportunity, thank you and also cryptokitties was about gaming too?? never knew
My initial understanding about XMax was its just for gaming, but no its much more than just Gaming.
Yeah mate, it also has to do with the entertainment industry as well for instance, celebrities can submit their entertainment tokens on the blockchain and list them on a digital asset trading platform.
Impressive, i like to take a further look into this
