Japanese company GMO Internet Group has plans to release a miner that will compete with current industry leader bitmains Antminer S9. GMO plans to hit the mining industry hard with its cutting-edge 7nm process technology for chips to be used in the mining process. Each mining hardware will have a performance of 10/THs with a power consumption of 500W. Bitmains Antminer S9 currently uses 16 nm chips and has a performance of 14/THs and 1372W power consumption. GMO plans to have miners on the market by Q1 of 2018.
