ethereum is down near a 16-month low as negative pressure continues
The price of the digital currency "Ethrium" fell more than 1.5% on spot trading on Monday to resume its losses, which were temporarily suspended yesterday as recovery from the 16-month low. The decline comes as negative pressure continues on most major currency markets in the digital market.
At 12:45 GMT, the digital currency is trading around $ 111, down $ 2 by more than 1.5%, opening at $ 133, the highest at $ 117 and the lowest at $ 110.
Ethrium gained 2.7% on Sunday, its first gain in four days, recovering from a 16-month low of $ 98 per unit recorded earlier in the day.
Over the past week, the world's third largest currency lost 36%, its third consecutive weekly loss, and the biggest weekly loss since early September, driven by the open sales of most of the major currencies in the digital market.
The market value of digital currencies on Monday fell by $ 3 billion to $ 128 billion and yesterday recorded a total of $ 114 billion, the lowest since August 2017.
The price of the major currencies in the digital market is still falling to new lows, with negative pressure on prices continuing, especially in the panic that has gripped investors because of the recent total split of the currency.
Negative pressure also increased after Bloomberg said the US Justice Department was investigating the possibility of currency manipulation, which could be a direct cause of the record highs last year.
