CRYPTOWARS - The Crypto Riots - Chapter 3
The Crypto Riots
What a world we live in. Where you can live in a system completely sovereign of central control.
This world is a new world. One built on anonymous names, coins and assets of no real value outside of speculation and completely disorganized and full of scams.
A world free from restriction and control built within a world full of restriction of control has certain attractions to the wrong people. Criminal elements, some being those looking to scam people out of money, filled the marketplace of cryptocurrencies for some time.
The more I researched the more I realized that most of these cryptocurrencies were not advancing the technology or adoption of the Blockchain, but just riding the waves to collect their bitcoin and cash out.
It seemed almost hopeless. Pumps and dumps. Scams and shams.
I rode the waves and collected my bitcoin while investing into projects I felt would really benefit the adoption and real world use of the Blockchain.
I saw Blockchain technology as a solution to all things centralized. Time and time again, centralized developers, pump and dump groups and exchanges muddied the puddle with poison and theft.
GOX and Mintpal were proof that exchanges could not be trusted. They were essentially the unregulated versions of banks which currently loot and pillage the energy of men worldwide.
I wanted something better. I saw a decentralized type exchange which issued assets as a possible avenue to investigate.
Three projects peaked my curiosity. Counterparty, NXT and NHZ. I invested early into NHZ with the promise that this clone of NXT would have an experimental yet fair distribution of wealth upon the worlds community. I worked hard with the community to build it into something good.
I issued assets called NHZDoge which paid profits from mining Doge to those who held a share of the asset. This new economy was bustling with new people and high hopes.
Unfortunately, centralized control of supply and developer funds ended up being the downfall of this project.
Disenfranchised and completely mad at the bad players in crypto, I was approached by what seemed to be a trustworthy person to take over an abandoned project and build a truly decentralized project of our own.
