Facebook gives me the creeps. A private company controlling the majority of all communication on Earth. We know for a fact that it is not a good thing when a government is controlling it. Now the rumours have been here for a while that they want to eat another good idea meant for good: Crypto Currencies.

I'm partial to octopuses, but cuttlefish are probably the cutest of the group haha. I remember watching a documentary on cephalopods, and the people working with them were like, "if we lived in the water, these guys would be our dogs."
Cool artwork and to the point @katharsisdrill:) Yes i saw the news also but i am not worried. A stable coin like that is targeting the banks and not the cryproworld, at least now. Facebook sees that we are entering the world of digital money and wants to use its tecnology to bypass the banks and become the middle man.
Yes, I suppose the crypto-world will not be threatened. I am more worried for the world.

I wonder if a lot of our fears around FB could be addressed if the US Nationalized the company, democratized it and then treated it like a utility, like water or electricity.
I don't trust the CEO's currently in charge to upload constitutional values, and since FB is basically necessary for any startup business owner, maybe it shouldn't be a private company anymore?
I agree, I see no problem in having a shared ownership in a society. We wouldn't like our armies or police or roads to be private. Facebook has become infrastructure like roads, communication infrastructure and we should have the control of it... But that is why we are here, right :)
