Cryptocurrency has done wonders to reinnervate human interest in the free market, economics, and other critically important areas of practice and study which are part and parcel of, and serve to dignify and honor, human existence itself.
What follows is a video in which I share my thoughts on the Japanese government’s recent moves to stifle the free flow of money and information in this revolutionary new market know informally as “crypto.”

As you point out, this is going from the absurd to the scary. The thing is, how would the ever be able to enforce such bizarre legislation that stipulates that you have to keep track of all the various gains made by your cryptocurrencies. That's almost as absurd as having to record the exact amount of any fiat currency you had in your wallet for every day of the year.
And that news about the Michigander is unsettling. Apparently, the powers have few options in their fight against cryptos, so maybe they are resorting to fear, since it's the most effective tool that remains.
But remember, they too are scared. The tide of history is turning, and the pace of change is becoming more rapid. Just look at how fiat currencies have plummeted in value vis-a-vis cryptos over the past year. It's clearly very frightening to them.

You're dead right Graham, it's absolutely a fear campaign.
Even the most brain dead government moron can see that trying to tax this market is unrealistic. I'm sure the governments are going to be all over their corporate friends who are delving into this market right now....NOT!
This is what dying systems do, they rob the citizens of their wealth, however in this case they are so far behind the game they've already lost the war. Yes there will be battles and there will be casualties on our side but it's over for them, they know it they just can't except that fact and won't go down without a fight.
Anyone fessing up to owning crypto and declaring profit for tax purposes is a traitor to the revolution, the whole point was to take away the power of these scumbags to allow of fairer system.

It was just time for the government to claim their piece of the cake. As usually they didnt bake it and didn't even provide the ingredients.
Regulating the market here in Japan was just the first step, inevitably follows now step number two. Taxation!
It might be still better than banning the crypto market, however both measures would have a bad impact on everybody who is thinking of joining the freedom!!
Haha. You said it. They can’t be left out of something actual producers are doing!
They're actually trying to do the same thing in the U.S. right now. About 6 months ago, a bill was introduced that requires you to disclose all funds you have (so that they can tax it, obviously). This bill recently entered committee, so it really needs to be stopped. I wrote my last post about this issue and showed how people could take action to stop this bill.

Interesting video and discussion here thanks Graham. Seems to me the beast, crypto, cannot be shoved back into the box so 'the system' will try and ruin it for the common man and seize it for themselves. Our beautiful world is in the grip of darkness as the elite spread fear, hate and poverty to divert attention and control the people. The people at the top are few and rely on the foundations which are the masses to exist. Folks need to wake up and stand together. Be well xox

"Interesting" news. Thank you for the heads up on this. I guess this might start spreading to other countries. The "Establishment" is starting to feel the threat.
Wtf, the same stuff is actually now going on in my country too. You have to register all your purchases and file it in the yearly tax document. I say f*** EM, they can't trace It anyway. They don't have systems in place to check all the coins going from place to place. So it's just a paper law, for now, they will probably have tracking and other software in the future. That's still going to take a big while though. I'm not worried by this yet and already knew it was bound to happen. Government's always wants a piece of the pie in anything, that won't change.

Some of the places I thought be at the forefront of crypto are anti crypto. Japan was where mt. Gox was based too.
Japan is a strange beast. I can go to Tokyo and survive on crypto. And yet, the state seems to be out to kill it as much as they outwardly "support" it.
