Facebook is dying slowly, and this is a desperate attempt to stay relevant amidst their campaign to control the public discourse. I log in once a week at the most, and a lot of that time is spent unliking, unfriending, deleting, and promoting alternatives.
After the recent controversies, people are definitely more aware about their practices and many have stopped using or decreased their use greatly. But yeah, if Facebook is successful in launching and maintaining a crypto, it will grow to an even larger size.
