Online mining company have only been profitable for the people selling them. Look at some of the few legit companies in the space, as 99.9% are also scams. CEX.io for example used to sell online mining, their costs where above their income, and had to shut the service down. One interesting aspect which I didn't really follow through on within the article is that there appears to be quite significant interest from established mining operations which surprised me a little - as I figured this would be of more appeal to smaller players.
