CRYPTOCURRENCY - Discrepancies in Prices & FRUSTRATION in Figuring it Out!

It is often frustrating when you see some kind of discrepancy between one report and another, and it is often impossible to get a sensible or understandable explanation for such differences.

IN PARTICULAR - the price of Feathercoin (FTC) in USD, as reported on CryptoCompare.com and CoinMarketCap.com.

First...

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/feathercoin/

And...

https://www.cryptocompare.com/coins/ftc/overview/USD

If my math is correct, it appears that CryptoCompare is reporting the price of FeatherCoin to be about 10% the value reported on coinmarketcap.com.

So, I wrote to Charles Hayter, CEO and founder of Cryptocompare.com, showed him the differences in Feathercoin prices, and asked him, "I'd like to know why your USD prices of Cryptocurrencies can be MUCH DIFFERENT to the prices as reported on coinmarketcap.com"

He replied, "Our prices are live and based on a VWAP and time weighted according to the last trade on that particular pair. Hope that helps."

Perhaps I'm just an ignorant caveman or something, because that response didn't help.

I think to myself, why are things so complex, confusing and frustrating?
