Some World Crypto News
1- A unit of Japanese financial services group SBI Holdings invested in a U.S. developer of digital marketplaces in an effort to create a cryptocurrency derivatives trading platform for institutional investors.
SBI Crypto Investment had as of Monday purchased 12% of North Carolina-based Clear Markets, a stake that is likely worth about 1 billion yen ($9 million). The price was not disclosed.
2 - Cryptocurrency price tracker and data aggregator CoinMarketCap has launched a new suite of professional API services designed for cryptocurrency funds and developers.The release of CoinMarketCap’s suite of new professional data feed products follows the announcement earlier this month that the website was going to take increased steps to “over-provide” users with data and analytical tools, answering criticisms that the website did not always provide an accurate picture of the actual state of the cryptocurrency market.
3 - Jimmy Wales, The founder of Wikipedia,recently revealed that his brainchild, Wikipedia, would "absolutely never" issue its own cryptocurrency or hold an ICO. He said the website had "zero interest" in joining the crypto trend.
4 - A crypto-currency wallet heavily promoted as "unhackable" – complete with endorsements from the security industry's loopy old uncle John McAfee and a $350,000 bounty challenge – has, inevitably, been hacked within a week.
5 - Morgan Stanley has hired an expert in cryptocurrencies from Credit Suisse.
Andrew Peel, Credit Suisse's self-described former 'trading subject matter expert for Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies' has joined Morgan Stanley as head of digital asset markets according to his LinkedIn profile.
