Sex and Money....Well Mostly Sex

(SEE EDITS BEFORE GETTING TOO EXCITED)
This old axiom is one of the biggest drivers in consumer culture. It is interesting to see how it plays out in the digital age.
Really, it has driven the digital age. As the internet may have started out as a decentralized project created by DARPA so that the impending nuclear wars would be averted by the de-centralized nature of it.
Money? No surprise
It's no surprise that the internet has since found a way to create a platform on top of it - to further generate cryptocurrency.
In one of the most recent schemes to do this is to create the perfect mobile app for decentralizing digital pimps. Its actually a pretty amazing idea considering that it doesn't really take a big burly man anymore in a purple suit to protect an escort any-more.
Lust has created a new token that launches the ICO in a month to get funding to utilize smart contracts for the latest and greatest sexual encounters right to your phone.
While they have a very lofty plan for their road-map, it is one of the few I have seen that completely avoid the US as it is explicitly illegal in most states but instead is set to break into the markets all over Europe and moving into Asia. If you want to go check it out you can visit their website [here]) or their [White Paper.]
One of the things that I realize as I was reviewing the documentation is that it is abundantly clear that English is not their first language, but I got off my privileged high horse for the sake of a fair and honest review.
Presentation Grade - A-
Going through the Bitcoin Talk thread I found myself being roped in by the shiny advertisements for their platform. They have a mock-up of the application and great pictographs to show statistics of the money that could be made in this venture.
It is not terribly clear as to why they have these in there, but I assume it is because the profits will be split among the investors in the project.
Innovation - B+
While its not the first thing I would want to see on the block-chain, I think anything that can come along and replace Backpages or Craigslist is probably a better option. The theory is great! Use smart contracts to pimp for you so that you can give incentive for people to pay and allow the escorts focus on the escorting....or whatever. This could be really massive. Or it could be a huge flop. I think this really can and will change the way we think about porn and sex in the future, linking models and other talent with agencies of all sort.
Plausability - C
While this idea is really interesting and totally new and all that, the lack of clear communication about how the token distribution will work, or how profit splitting occur if it will is disheartening. There is a good budget set aside for legal hang ups, but its not 100% as to how they plan to deal with the fact that they are starting an organization that states and implys its going to circumvent the law.
There's no telling though - I cant say if I am a good judge as I am not from these countries and have no clear understanding of how to best navigate the laws about prostitution. However, if this company can get a working demo app out by their ICO as they plan to do in their [roadmap], then I think the traction can really get them rolling. Especially with a good chunk of seed money behind them!
Overall Grade: C
The long term thought about it is the biggest issue that I really foresee. There could be years and years of legal fees or it could really take off under the radar like they seem to be intending. There really is no telling and its quite the coin-flip as it stands in my eyes.
We are also talking about cryptocurrency markets here where they can flip over in 30 hours time and then right themselves in over two years. Its very easy to get caught up in the pump-and-dump cycles of this thing. There are a ton of things that can go wrong, if a contract fails and pays out when its not supposed to they need to account for that, they need to account for the seedy underbelly of these places they want to move into where sex is sold and people are commodities.
This all needs to be planned for and it was unclear as to how they would do that.
If there is anything that a potential investor should know about cryptocurrency it is that this thing could capsize and sink at any moment, or it could become the next "Facebook for Sex" - except.....you pay up front.
I am not a financial planner or adviser. Please do your own research and make your own opinions about this project as this is all my opinion. I do not hold any of this cryptocurrency, nor do I intend to open any positions within the next 72 hours.
UPDATE = It has been brought to my attention that this project is a scam as detected by the ICO scam bot on Bitcoin talk
EDIT = This is a scam account - leaving the post up just because of integrity and all but removing links
