Venezuela launched the national blockchain "petro"

The mechanisms will allow any Venezuelan to register and participate in the petro program by purchasing a cryptocurrency.

“Today, a new stage begins, we are launching a national Venezuelan blockchain, which will have its center in Venezuela and develop by national professionals and scientists, the whole development plan of Petro will be based on this for 10 years,” the President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro said on the air state television.

The President noted that the launched mechanisms will allow any citizen of Venezuela to take part in the “petro” program, registering in the system and buying the Venezuelan cryptocurrency “petro” for convertible currency.

In addition, as noted by Nicolas Maduro, from November 5, the purchase of “petro” can be paid for with the Venezuelan national currency - sovereign bolivars.
