Is It Better to Be a Risk Taker or to Play It Safe?

I guess the answer is: it depends on what type of person you are. If only the thought of losing what you already have gives you the chills, then taking risks is probably not your favorite game.

On the other hand, if you're always seeking for new experiences and you are not afraid when much is at stake, taking risks is not only doable for you, but also desirable.

I have never been a risk taker myself, but during the past months I have been trying to give it a try by investing in cryptocurrency.

More precisely, I got a Wirex account and invested a small amount of money in Bitcoin, Litecoin and, more recently in the Wirex token.

I can say that I am pretty satisfied by now, although I still easily panic when I check the amounts of each cryptocurrency and see that the values drop below more than 5% - 10% ... which has been a constant cause of concern during the past week.

However, all in all, from the moment I started, until now, I made more profit than I initially hoped for. But the more you make, the more you want, of course, and the more worried you get when things don't go your way.

But I guess this is how things should always work: you lose some, you gain some and once you are willing to start taking a risk, be it financial, professional or emotional, you should take into account both sides of the matter and don't fool yourself with the idea that you will always win.

It has been and still is pretty hard for me to get used to the fluctuations of the cryptocurrency market, probably anyone else who's new at it feels the same. But the thing that I learned about it and the lesson that I am trying to teach myself constantly is that all good things take time.

You can't get rich over night and making money by investing in this market requires a lot of time and constant commitment. Especially if you are worried that you might lose the little that you have invested, you tend to become compulsive in checking what is happening. If this is a good and efficient behavior or a bad one that disrupts the rest of your activities, I still don't know :).

This is probably something I will understand a couple of months from now when I will also figure out if my last investment in the wirex token was as good as I'm hoping right now.

In conclusion, by now, I would say that taking some risks is worth it, at least once in a while, especially if you can turn back to your safe game whenever you want to.
