Overt Support For Crypto Industry From Australian State Government

The Australian state government of Queensland expressed its keen support for crypto startups by announcing the issuance of a grant from its innovation fund to Travelbybit- a cryptocurrency payment platform, Cointelegraph reported yesterday.
Travelbybit seeks to enable tourists to pay for good and services via cryptocurrencies.
"Opening up Australia to Digital Currency Tourism" is the mission statement on its homepage.
According to Cointelegraph,the co-founder and CEO of TravelbyBit Caleb Yeoh said: “We have more than 150 merchants across Australia using our system and this funding, to develop a purpose-built platform that will accept digital currencies from anywhere in the world, will allow us to add jobs not only directly to our team but also across the broader tourism industry.”
In an official statement expessing confidence in Travelbybit's business model, Queensland's Innovation Minister Kate Johns enthused: “TravelbyBit has devised a clever way to make it easier for visitors to our state to pay for their purchases with a growing number of local businesses accepting cryptocurrency payments."
Given that Australia was portrayed as a country which seeks to steer clear of the crypto industry in an article by Bloomberg last year, can one infer that the move by Queensland to support Travelbybit points to a marked change in the opinion of Australia's establishment towards the viability of cryptocurrencies?
