Altcoin / Poopcoin OVERNITE: Stratis & Burst

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

Our pick to own overnite in altcoins is Stratis.

Stratis (STRAT) has been getting accumulated since March, had it's peak in early June like everyone else, and has been mostly dormant thru mid November. As cryptos jacked higher in December, Stratis went from $3 and change to north of $10 where it trades now. It peaked just above $14 on Monday and consolidated to test $10.00 floor yesterday. It's been getting accumulated since yesterday morning at all prices below $11.00 tho, and that's why we think you should take a stab on it overnite, aiming to buy it around $11.50-12.00 on a dip now thru California's evening. Even if you buy it now at about $12.65 and lower, we like it. Is there anything fundamental driving it? Nothing solid actually, but a "...to Coinbase" rumor which you can see manifest in this tweet with 16 likes 2 resteems...

It also seems there's rumors Stratis will give rise to TWO ICOs in January, including one in China.

Some other appeal to Stratis:
#1 A market cap of "ONLY" (heh!) $1.25 billion, but this is much much smaller than other "...to Coinbase" cryptos like Ripple which is valued in TENS of billions.
#2 Ethereum-style purpose in life: Stratis aims to offer similar "product" as Ether, as a platform with "smart contracts", but who's main difference is the platform is built for C# applications. C# is Microsoft's computer language, and probably the most supported and largest computer programming languages/communities on planet Earth. Cryptos are largely the realm of NON-Microsoft developers, so even tho C# is huge, it's almost like an underdog of sorts. Think of C# as the Yankees, lotta haters of it, but boy are the supporters in good company! So in short, it's SERIOUS like Ethereum, so there's some "smoke->fire" path to the rumors having some merit. Stratis ICO'd in July 2016 when it raised less than $1 million! (compare to the largest ICO at around $250 mm). Having ICO'd a full year after Ether, Stratis is a straight-up copy of the Ethereum model, but again for C# developers. It's a Proof of Stake coin, however, unlike Ethereum's Proof of Work (which mimics Bitcoin).
#3 Adoption. Poloniex offers it, as does wallet Ledger, & Bittrex (we think).
#4 Founders: They are C# lovers mostly, so Microsoft-programmers. We believe they are serious about the project, so this isn't really a "poopcoin".
#5 It's decently liquid, unless you're trying to buy in the millions!

None of this is really relevant, this is after all just an overnite pick, but we're going to give readers a little extra on the alt-coins we pick, to distinguish them from the poopcoins we pick.... speaking of...!!

BURST: We consider this a poopcoin; if you do NOT agee, PLEASE post why in the comments-- we're "all ears" and open to a change of heart. We aren't going to spend time on this one, only tell you it's been steadily accumulate in the recent week around $0.025 per coin. Today it's been between $0.035 and $0.045. We recommend buying it tonite for prices less than $0.040, and it trades $0.038 now, up about 2% today, with steady volume in the past 24 hours.

As we did last night, we'll update our picks in the comments below, to give you further idea what to do in terms of thinking about selling Burst and Stratis.

As has been our theme, we continue to look favorably upon Ripple in the near to medium term, yes, even with it "ripping" 30-50% upwards today. Sometimes it's right to sell a run, sometimes it's right to buy a run, and we favoring buying it (today).

Disclaimer: We provide information, YOU make the calls and live with the consequences. That said, may your day (or OVERNITE) be Merry & Bright!

UPDATE: as of about 17:00 GMT the day after our recommendations were posted, BURST is up 44%, so we decided to change our picture from Stratis which has been sold off like most altcoins today, to the BURST picture since more people might be interested in it today since it's up big in the worst cryptocurrency day in ages.

Excellent analysis! Nailed 1 of just a few that were up during the great Merry Correction. Nice.

Good writeup!

Another unique thing about Stratis is that it will let people Anonymize their Bitcoin. Think about that...! Bitcoin is traceable, but sending it through a Stratis Tumblebit Masternode will make Bitcoin untraceable as much as Monero (some people argue more). It's not just a coin with privacy... it is THE coin that adds privacy TO Bitcoin :)

Has Stratis already adopted the Tumblebit Masternode, or is that coming in the future?
There are now a plethora of coins doing this exact thing, so hard to really get too excited about Stratis beyond the medium-term.

Post-Op analysis:

BURST: Our theoretical sell point is..... wait for it..... NOW! $0.0398
Can you believe it, we actually MADE MONEY during the 19 hours of what will be known as the Christmas Eve crypto-massacre. Our trade recommendation is UP (yes UP) 2%. By comparison, bitcoin is down between 15-20%, and just about every crypto is down 20-30%.

Stratis: it's down 30%, and we'd theoretically sell it now for the loss. Lesson learned? Not really, this trade lost because it occured on the great Xmas eve crypto massacre.

Until next one...

The Tumblebit masternode is in Alpha on the mainnet. They announced the full release to happen 'within days, not weeks'. So that is encouraging.

As for other projects that allow for Bitcoin tumbling (note: It is tumbling btc, as well as strat) I don't know of any that do that? Can you name a few so I can research it?
I know that a ton of coins offer privacy features, but I personally do not know of any _Bitcoin_tumbling services.

I also suspect that because the Stratis blockchain can tumble Bitcoins, there is a high chance that Stratis smart contracts will be able to store and handle BTC as well: in essence bringing smart contracts as well as corporate privacy, to Bitcoin, without having to switch to an alternative currency back and forth.

It's a very interesting point specifically on BITCOIN tumbling, and I do NOT know which cryptos are doing that. Most of what we'd call "dark coins" do tumbling for private transactions; namely, Monero, Zcash, Dash, PIVX. But to your point, not sure if these cryptos tumble bitcoins, only their OWN coins. Will have to research that as well.

Our poopcoin rec BURST is up 44% right now. Guess we should have recommended hanging in there longer.

update, BURST is up 18% on the day! Tune in next time for our next recommendation.

I lost the burst haha
