In my last post I've been discussing the development of ETH and ETC for 2018. With the entire market crashing 30, 40 or more percent within days it's hard to make any predictions, but obviously the fundamentals haven't changed (especially for the platform tokens), and it's actually a much better time to get in and make your cut, or even a bigger one.

So, I also started discussing platform tokens, and I want to wrap it up with this post. I will go into less detail about the "why", simply because it would take too much time (and too many posts) and the arguments would repeat.

LSK

Being located in Berlin, I know many people from the crypto space, and some of them are people from Lisk. While this shouldn't bias me (and I like to think it doesn't), I have a lot of respect for their work. Not only are they sitting on a comfortable pile of crypto assets from their ICO and some airdrops, they've also been awesomely successful in building their community with over 180k followers, showing that the interest in their platform is huge.

With the launch of their SDK (which is scheduled for Q1 2018), their DPoS platform will finally get to unfold its full potential. I'm really curious about the speed of adoption of it, but I'm sure it will find a lot of users and developers, while offering a scalable solution.

Will easily 5-10x this year if the SDK proves stable.

ADA

One of the biggest and most obvious ones is Cardano and its token Ada. Has had a huge rally last year already, but if they can stick to their roadmap and get the stuff they plan implemented, there is still a lot of potential. Some optimists say 20-30$ this year. The PoS mechanism and their foundation work seem solid and their cash supply good enough to get to the real things.

QTUM

I had neglected Qtum for a long time (too long, if you ask me), but actually the basic concept looks really good and their partnerships solid (because they are tangible). They rely on proven technology and take the more conservative road, which I generally like. They also already have a nice number of applications on the platform - who can claim that so far?

Expect to see 150-200$ some time this year, is more of the lower-risk ones.

STRAT

I kinda stopped digging when I realized that Stratis is building on top of C#. Somehow, the .NET and Microsoft-bound universe doesn't seem to cater well for "open" and blockchain. On the other hand, it seems I may be biased because of my experience with Java, etc., so I should give it another chance. So I did, and I realized that there is a lot of momentum being built up. The upcoming ICOs will bind a lot of value in STRAT, so that if those are successful, more ICOs will come and a similar effect as with ETH will kick in.

Can go as high as 100$ this year.

IOTA

"Big hype." - "A game changer." - "Will make blockchain obsolete."
We've all heard all these statements about IOTA, but what have they delivered in terms of use cases so far? Hardly anything. Nevertheless, based on the news about Bosch, the price of IOTA went 5x within a week to a whole new level. Still lacking a real proof of concept on a productive scale, but with the support they've got - nakamo.to and their 10m development fund, among others - it's hard to believe there won't be really big thing happening on IOTA this year. If this happens, I see potential for prices up to 20$ or more.

Conclusion

Again, I didn't cover all of them. I have some more in my personal portfolio for which I first need to find good arguments, first. And there for example Tronix. It has been hyped to an extent that's hardly believable. For me, it's explicitly not on the list because of the lack of tangible information, except for a long list of alleged partnerships and a very good marketing work.
