Understanding Cryptocurrencies - 001 : Decode the Table
It has been 90 days since I entered the world of crypto-currency. There has been a lot of up and downs. I have learnt a lot in these three months and it feels like I am just scratching the tip of the iceberg. While investments and returns are an important factor, one thing that I have realised of late is that the learning is the most important thing and it could be of much more value over the time. So I am streamlining my efforts in understanding of cryptocurrencies and am planning to make it public so that others can learn along with me, correct me if I am wrong, together we can crowdsource the research.
As a first step I did some importing of tables from https://coinmarketcap.com/ and ran some basic queries to get this simple table with just two columns. The table was imported on 11:09 PM, Sunday, 27 August 2017 GST. Do let me know in comments if you can decode this table and what you can learn from this. I will post the answers for this tomorrow, along with my learnings.

the table you have above looks like it is trading volume for all the crypto currencies in the table.
Hope this helps, or have I missed the point?
I think your statement is truthful . i see different crypto currencies name over there.
Not exactly but it is based on that. Check out https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@gokulnk/understanding-cryptocurrencies-001-answer for the answer.
Wowow, very interesting
With this generic messages, it is very tough to differentiate between a bot and man these days :P
Solid post. I was about to start a similair discussion. It surprises me people don't do their due dilligence on the coins they invest in. How can you invest in something if you don't know it's Trustworthiness. An interesting website I found: https://www.coincheckup.com. For a complete crypto analysis on every single tradable crypto out there.
Solid post. I was about to post a similair thread. Buy low, sell high, it seems so simple but most investors still don't seem to get it :-) Does anyone know about: https://www.coincheckup.com They researched and analyzed every tradable coin out there from a investment, team, product, transparency perspective. Really interesting.
