Wanting to Start Mine Cryptocurrency - Try Electroneum

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

Ever wanted to mine cryptocurrency, but the barrier of entry was too complicated/expensive. I have good news. Smartphones will be the only machine used to mine Electroneum in about 12 hours.

Not all smartphones can start mining, however. Bad news for all you Apple fanboys, the Electroneum website indicates there is no app for IOS as of this time. For those of us that have an android phone we're in luck. Electroneum is supposedly the easiest cryptocurrency to mine.

To get started mining all you need to do is download the app. Asics, graphics cards, and CPY's won't be used to mine this cryptocurrency (at least not desktop or laptop graphics cards and cpu's).

If you want in, the miner is supposed to be active in about 7 hours, although the site says the blockchain isn't going live for 12 hours. I'm more likely to believe the website, but if you want in on possibly earning some "free" crypto now would be the time. Especially if you have some old android smartphones sitting around that aren't being used.

Doesn't seem like it would be an effect blockchain. Phones are more powerful than computers of the 1990s, but the effort required to mine Bitcoin would make this effort like a toddler trying to run a marathon.

I think the point of it is more miners = more decentralized platform.

I don't know alot about mining crypto but seeing how this is a new pool the hashes might be more simplified so it could be a thing. From what I have read as mining goes on the hashrates become more difficult to solve and thats why you need to build bitcoin mining rigs with like 10 or more graphic cards or antminer rigs. so I might be game to give it a shot thanks @gniksivart wonder if you can use tablets that have the google store on it as well to use the apps to mine with.

Well it looks like the phone mining is currently unavailable due to security issues and there is a way to mine using your computer.

From what I've seen most people made 1000's of coins the first minutes - hours, but now the hashrate is pretty high. I'm assuming you will see very little to no coins using your phone at this point, but if that changes I will definitely make an update.

Now, I really need to get that smartphone back from the pawnshop.

I wouldn't waste your time. It looks like you can mine on your computer as well as the mobile miner not even being launched yet.

How can I mine in my computer? I've tried to log on however there's no option to mine their. hmmmm I'll check it again. thanks

"Smartphones will be the only machine used to mine Electroneum in about 12 hours"

pretty sure this is not true. The mobile mining isn't really mining, it's essentially a mining simulation that pays, in order to get people interested and eventually use the desktop software which actually mines.

Yeah I corrected it in my comment, but haven't updated the post

Unfortunately, mining with GPUs is already happening and has already made non-ICO investors a lot of money.

Electroneum's founders will need some form of control to cap or discern between those 'cheating' with GPUs, because CPU is the actual mining environment, or find a way to recompensate ICO investors whose funds made the system all possible.

I am hopeful they will figure out a solution, but either way — some pain is ahead for miners or ICO investors, if not both.

I was doubtful from the get go.
