Computing Power's Double Edge'd Sword

Just a quick observation.

Isn't it interesting that CPU & GPU power could be used to indoctrinate the public with propaganda or solve computational hashing problems by crypto algorithms to decentralize the banking system? This dichotomy really solidifies the idea of the role of networked computers main purpose: commerce.

This is not to say we can't live in a word with both, just that the same tools can be used for good or evil.
