At The Verge Of Security

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

Earlier today John Mcafee got hacked on his twitter page. This is following the presumed hack of Marquis Trill aka on twitter @6BillionPeople which caused the major dip of the cryptocurrency Verge(XVG). A lot of people assumed that Marquis wasn't hacked and used his staggering 4.6Million twitter followers to sell their verge asset so he could get in on a coin that was at a all high 0.29 per coin. There were people also saying that the tweets of the alleged "hack" where from the same location after he got his account recovered. So the hacker was in the Atlanta location and so was Marquis. The tweet went on to say that the team had given up on the project and everyone should dump their Verge immediately. Prices went down all the way down to 0.13 and hasn't recovered since. Even the developers had to come and and clarify that they were not giving up and had lot's of new stuff prepared for 2018. Marquis bought a staggering 2 BILLION of the coin when the dip happened. that is in approximation more than 200 million dollars worth. This does not seem to be a coincidence at all. @6billionpeople follows me on Twitter but to get this content in everyones hand so that they know what kind of person you are getting advice from. I'm okay with losing one follower.

Today the cybersecurity pioneer John Mcafee was hacked. His new schedule of announcing "The Coin Of The Week" every Monday was disrupted even before it began on Wednesday afternoon by about 5 to 6 tweets by a hacker that promoted multiple coins in the market. These tweets now have been deleted and by Mr. Mcafee's report the authorities have been alerted. Mcafee got a lot of criticism before for talking about "too many" new projects in the crypto space. Last week another incident occurred on Twitter when a doppelganger of Mcafee was offering to promote coins for 10 Bitcoin and 15% of the coins. Now here is where things get interesting the verification sign on the doppelgangers Twitter suggests that this indeed is the real person. The imposter did not have one. But these days anything is possible with image altercation. Mcafee personally said that this Twitter had been messing with him for a while and he would get the person removed. It appears that he kept his promise on that. (The first picture is the hack that happened today Wednesday the 27 and the screenshots underneath are from last week of the imposter)

I personally don't have any opinions on the matter. I just followed everything up to date and hope to keep the community informed on the current situation of Crypto Influencers today. I tried to stay biased throughout my writing so I hope this doesn't offend any parties.
