A bit about me

I created FrontCrypto twitter and telegram channel to gather all the latest Airdrops, Bounties and most hyped ICO's to share with the ever eager crypto community, so we can earn together.

This is my first post here on steemit, I am still in the process of creating a website that will function well. For now, all Airdrops are shared on twitter and telegram (not as often as I wish to do so).

Well anyway that's about me. Let's start with the topic I want to discuss today. The issue that made me write the first ever FrontCrypto steemit post, which was originally supposed to be about real Airdrops.

What is this rant about

So there was an Airdrop. Corbit. It claimed to be a project of a decentralized Exchange based on the Ethereum platform. They had a referral program like most airdrops: sign up, follow twitter and subscribe to telegram to get some free tokens and receive even more for inviting more people.

Within only 9 days they have collected over 57 000 twitter followers and 83 000 telegram users. Then on 3rd of March the website (https://corbit.website) suddenly disappeared and now is showing an error:

the twitter page have been renamed to airdropking_io which now has 15 tweets (YES, FIFTEEN) , the first one less then 2 days ago, and 57k followers. Hmm curious... It even says:

The best Cryptocurrency #airdrops. We review
every single #airdrop and share ONLY THE BEST
ones with you. More than 50.000 Follower trust us!

Wow, shameless for sure.

They review EVERY single Airdrops and share only the best; maybe they forgot to review the one they created, you know, that one that's a scam, the one that only exist to recruit followers super fast.

Then there is the telegram channel. Here they have 83.6k subscribers, created on 22nd of February and renamed on 3rd March. It has a "we are now officially rebranded" message. I noticed this channel yesterday and I was wondering when did I subscribe to it. I couldn't recall. In the meantime I was looking for the Corbit Exchange channel to check the referral status. It wasn't there. Maybe I shared something that didn't belong to the channel?

And then I seen a bitcoinalk post, talking about Corbit, how they "rebranded" from a decentralized Exchange with an upcoming ICO to a website sharing Airdrops.

Now the thing is, those 86k people in telegram channel and 57k people on twitter have not much clue how they are now subscribed to a channel they have never heard about, and frankly I think most of them won't even care to wonder. The small minority who does realise, will unfollow, maybe report, but that's it. He/she/they will get away with it.

In a couple weeks not even them handful of people will care or talk about it, and the airdropking community will continue to grow.

Scams are not something the crypto community want, or is it?

I don't think so. For now the only thing we can do, is to raise awareness. Share this and report to twitter. I am not encouraging witch hunt but if this is something you can get away with, this is going to be the normal. Airdrops are already getting out of hand, it's harder and harder to verify the legitimacy of the 2-3 new Airdrops launched by crypto startups.
