Hate ripple and what it stands for, banker pumps and will dump leaving the masses holding the bag, while they buy up BTC with the money they made.
Same as I hate Bitcoin cash, bunch of criminal gangsters, completely losing the ethos of crypto and blockchain.
I know hate is a strong word, but these a-holes need to stop trying to control everything for just a few to get rich, while the rest of the masses suffer under their rule.
Indeed, great comparison, I simply refuse to buy ripple and Bitcoin cash purely on principle.
I know one should not get emotional if all you want is to chase the "almighty dollar" but my thoughts go deeper to the reasoning behind why I think crypto and blockchain/bitcoin was created in the first place, and that is to share and care and redistribute wealth and give the ordinary guy a leg up, after centuries of being F-kd by bankers and institutions, and dare I say even platforms such as Facebook, who hordes tons of revenue from information selling that people give to them freely, and not share a cent of it with their users.
This is why I LOVE @steemit. because they have created a place where it is possible to share and help people and reward them for effort they put into posting.
True.
well we have to keep up the good fight and stave off these power hungry archaic slave drivers, lol - we will forge ahead and win, we have "right" on our side. :-)
Soon after Jed McCaleb sold Mt. Gox the price of Bitcoin dropped from around $15 to $0.01 in an hour. Also, 80,000 bitcoin were missing at the time of the sale without the buyer (Mark Karples) knowing. There was a lot of weird language in the contract to protect Jed. When the hack happened, investigators believed the infiltration happened through Jed McCalebs administrative account. Here is a link that explains what happened in better detail than what I can provide. https://www.thedailybeast.com/behind-the-biggest-bitcoin-heist-in-history-inside-the-implosion-of-mt-gox
It was some shady stuff and makes me a little unsure whether or not I trust ripple.

Just my 2 cents
I totally agree! Have you seen the show Mr. Robot?
I always felt as though Bitcoin Cash and Ripple were created after E-Coin! Ahaha.
Worse of the Worse.

apologies, lol - went on a bit of a rant there.
Cheers to @michaeljn! Were in the same boat.
I was drawn in by the libertarian mentality of a pseudo-socialist financial system instead of whatever capitalistic garbage we have now a days.
Steemit has been an amazing outlet to express opinions and information freely, while also being rewarded for your thoughts.
Glad to find another a like!
