Another crypto exchange bites the dust (cryptohub). What should we as investors do to protect ourselves?

in #cryptocurrency6 years ago

In reading my twitter feed today, I was shocked to learn that yet another relatively good crypto exchange had been hacked and a great deal of their btc, ltc, eth, xmr, doge and waves had been stolen ... here was their tweet "Bad news! CryptoHub platform was hacked and hackers stolen big amount of BTC, LTC; ETH, DOGE; XMR, WAVES Platform will remain disabled until vulnerability found."
So what can be done? I think the most sensible defense would be to only keep or move crypto onto an exchange when you have to or are ready to trade it! Then, as soon as you have done your trades, move your crypto off of the exchange and onto your own wallets or backup devices! And if you absolutely, have to leave some of your crypto assets on an exchange, then try to keep them to a minimum! Also, there are any number of good exchange ratings sites that you can check, before even considering which exchange to employ! :(
