I've been following the maidsafe project and whitepaper for a long time since back when the Mastercoin project was still a thing and btct and bitfunder ha-ha.
In terms of return it definitely is one of the serious cryptocurrencies to consider and when they finally get to a stable edition and final release I expect significant price appreciation similar to Ethereum it's one of various currencies I keep a track of myself for long term yields besides Bitcoin and Clam if I feel like lazily staking coins lol.
