Part 1 - Introduction

If you are a Steemit reader then you are probably aware of the recent popularity of cryptocurrencies and that there seems to be a new ICO or currency released every day to add to the existing 1000s. You probably have also thought about creating your own and joining the party.

There seems to be a lack of easy to follow guides that exist online which lead many people think that you need to be Satoshi Nakamoto computer genius to create your own. This upcoming series intends to be an easy to follow guide to quickly get your new coin released, ready for mining and trading etc.

I have previously created 3 of my own cryptocurrencies based on 3 different technologies mainly as fun learning exercises.  The coins you will be able to create by the end of these tutorials will be based on the following algorithms:

  1. CryptoNight (Dash, Monero)
  2. Scrypt (Litecoin)
  3. Dagger Hashimoto (Ethereum)

If you are too lazy to follow these instructions or get stuck due to lack of technical knowledge, I may be willing to create one for you in exchange for some bitcoin. :)

In part 2 we will start creating a coin based on CryptoNote, in the meantime get yourself a github account and think of a great name for your coin.
