My New Crypto Wallet Fun and Disturbing
Thanks to the super human efforts of @gmichelbkk, I was finally able to get a crypto wallet this month after seven months on steemit. This is one of his three posts I read for several days in order to get to this point I'm at now.
Learn How to Exchange Litecoin into Thai Baht
I’m using this exchange:
https://bx.in.th/
And here is my affiliate link if you need a Thai wallet:
https://bx.in.th/ref/yKgZ74/
Now I am happily able to transfer
SBD >>> LTC >>> THB
and then get that THB into my Thai bank account. It is a major daily thrill now. I’m so grateful to steemit.
But talking about my wallet makes me want to take a nap.
It does not get better when I talk to my son, @bxlphabet. He tells me I can’t use this wallet I have and I need to get a gadget from Walmart or Amazon to hold coins in.
What?
Are you kidding me?
I cannot believe I need to get to this level of security. Thousands of Thai people seem to be there chatting and trading at https://bx.in.th/, so they must be ok.
And my new wallet company is very efficient so far. Lightening speed – like steemit. I think we should try to get SBD and STEEM on there because steemit has Thai users.
Do I really need to go elsewhere with a gadget? How heavy is this thing?
And then the next thing he said is to get every wallet possible. Sigh… Only if @gmichelbkk writes a 3 part tutorial for it first.
I have all these coin options now. @bxlphabet wants to do this part of the deal, and I am all for it. But I still have this wallet with no idea of a good move.
I thought I would put a small amount of money in each coin I can get, but then it turned out that there are 22 of them! Holy moly.
Offhand I want certain ones for only dumb reasons.
Litecoin – Because it is the one I use to transfer with – shouldn’t I try to support? Karma. AND is LTC really the best of these choices for my transfers? So far, so good.
Omise GO – Something @maarnio said one time makes me want this one. I don’t remember what he said. I’m sure it was good.
Solely because of the name I want these:
- Dash
- Everex Token
- Feathercoin
- Gnosis (I just won the prize for this one in a @maarnio contest.)
- Pandacoin
I have no idea what any of them stand for.
Only one of these I want but I thought the name was Zai something.- not just Z.
- Zcoin
- Zcash
So! I should have told you - I’m new to crypto and looking for your advice.
I think aspects to this are:
- fees
- tracking
- laddering
- learning
- scheduling time
- budgeting
What else? I am going to take that nap.
Losing weight was the best thing that ever happened to me. Anyone can get over obesity and live their dreams if I can.

here is the official website for the Ledger Wallet
I feel like it's only necessary if you are investing in multiple coins at once. It can store 5 different coins, and you can swap out what coins it can use.
There are "hot" and "cold" wallets. Hot wallets are online, cold wallets are, like the ledger, a small piece of hardware, usually a flash drive.
Oh - ok. I guess it seems like I am going to need one. But I wanted all 22 coins!
Well you'd need to buy multiple cold storage wallets, each one can hold five.
I definitely planned to have many coins going. I'm re-thinking my life now.
this little bit of info might help you...it did me! (not wallet, but exchange price related.

Me no understandee....?
(I use exodus as a wallet btw)
It's this thing
https://www.amazon.com/Ledger-Nano-Cryptocurrency-Hardware-Wallet/dp/B01J66NF46/
Never heard of exodus...
ah! a wallet to keep off your computer - now I understand.
I keep an exodus wallet on my computer.
(If I can use it anyone can - just a download. Anonymous - for now) to stock up on lite coin. In effect it is my bank - more secure than keeping in an online exchange.
Easy to use (I used it to transfer to bx first time - before doing directly.)
The BX thingy is very quick, isn't it?
Yes - I love it. Best part of my day now!
Why do you use it on the computer?
I wanted to save up some litecoin - and didn't want to leave on an exchange (in case they disappear overnight)
This way its more secure
So can you freely send it back and forth?
I have sent it to bx so far.
And I also bought $11 worth of 'clear coin' token ico's with it. ( a gamble)
So yes.
(I see no reason why you couldn't send it anywhere else. If block trades sends it there, they can receive it to)
Oh Ok - that is interesting.
There is so much to learn and that is what keeps most people away. Once there are better...or simpler yet safe ways to store your coins and then convert them into any fiat the masses will become interested.
Not only will if greatly increase the value of the coins that are part of this project the company who creates it will make a lot of money.
I first thought of coming to steemit last March and the only reason I did not was the crypto. I finally came for the Alexa ranking in June with the intention of ignoring the money side of things. Luckily I have reason to pay attention now!
Steemit was your gateway drug...lol. You have a good post there. Get a few backlinks with some good keywords and have a catchy title and you can get some good traffic from google.
Have noticed that steemit posts are starting to get ranking in google. This will attract more and more bloggers.
One of the reasons I cared was the steemit posts started showing up on my search results last spring. Little did I know.
I think right not from an SEO perspective steemit has the power of any authority site and that is HUGE. Might really make sense to capitalize on that besides the SBD earned.
Litecoin is good for transfers as the transaction costs are low. And if you're then sending to your Thai bank as THB there's no need to worry about getting any other wallet.
If you want to hold any other coins Google is your friend as you really need to learn about each in-depth and decide if the coin/project is worth supporting.
Glad you finally got that SBD -> LTC -> THB thing sorted out!
Whew me too! I do not feel up to this reseach!
Welcome to the exciting world of wallets @fitinfun.
lol - thank you very much. Please write many comments to guide my way. I'm getting ready to write part two of this painful topic....
I'm going in deep for all the old ladies.
I'll keep you posted as I journey deeper down the rabbit hole. I have several exchange accounts and find that I like https://www.coinbase.com. It is quick and easy to set up and it is very quick and easy to fund.
I also have several wallets and this week am activating a new one with https://www.binance.com that looks like it will become my favorite.
I'll keep you posted.
Awesome that you got this! Now you can get some Thai money to spend :).
Yes and I am!
Thanks for sharing the tips @fitnfun. This will come in handy one day when I am going to backpack & stay for quite a while in Thailand :)
You can set up a savings account here at one of the major banks easily with a tr visa. Then you just need to set up the wallet and you are good to go!
