I think this is a pretty exciting development.
Making it even easier for people to buy vtc can only be a good thing.

Looking forward to to seeing this coin appreciate by 20%+ before the year is out

Just did a quick search of this exchange and found the reddit post from the dev, very interesting, this could really impact the price of VTC, the dev, Justin said:

My name is Justin and I wanted to share some exciting news regarding a project I have started working on.
With my team, we have started developing an US-based exchange for Vertcoin and the US Dollar. The new exchange will be called Vertbase (vertbase.com) with the hope of creating a simple way for users to buy and sell Vertcoin with USD similar to Coinbase.
Background I am the Head of Product for a startup recruiting company located in Chicago, IL with experience designing and developing a number of web and mobile applications in a variety of tech stacks. A couple of months ago I invested in Vertcoin and have been following the community ever since via Reddit.
A common question/post I notice daily is new subscribers looking for an easy way to acquire Vertcoin much like they have done with Bitcoin, Litecoin or Ethereum from Coinbase. The answer is to purchase one of those other coins and transferring them to either Bittrex or exchanging them via Shapeshift. While these two options work well they aren’t straight forward and depend on other services and coins in order to get to Vertcoin.
Mission As an investor in Vertcoin, enthusiast and developer I want to help spread the word about Vertcoin, expand it’s usage and give back to the community. My goal is to reduce the number of steps and friction in acquiring Vertcoin. I want to develop an exchange as easy as Coinbase but for Vertcoin!
With a simple way to buy and sell Vertcoin the community will grow and innovation in use will accelerate.
Community On top of all that the Vertbase team is committed to giving back and will donate a portion of the transaction fees to the Vertcoin development team. We know how hard they have been working and support of the development team is crucial to keeping Vertcoin’s trajectory pointing upward.
What About Coinbase? Are we worried about Coinbase adding support for Vertcoin? Absolutely not! Part of the reason we are doing this is to build upon the excitement and growth of Vertcoin. If Coinbase takes notice and begins to offer Vertcoin then we are all winners. Our number one goal is to spread the word about Vertcoin and increase the adoption of the coin to the masses. So if you read this Coinbase, I suggest you list Vertcoin now!

yep.

and from there it opens up other possibilities. they can start to pair up VTC with LTC,ETH, BTC etc to make it easier to jump into VTC from those coins....

opportunities are endless.
