Steemit rewards March 2019

in #cryptocurrency5 years ago (edited)

At the last day of the month, it is time for a new post about the rewards I got from different Steemit services and initiatives.

Voting distribution

Based on upVoters you can get insight in the upvotes you get for a certain amount of time. Below you can see the voting distribution of all incoming votes in March (and February as a comparison). It can be seen that the share of @actifit has gone up quite a bit and @steembasicincome is back to number two. The share of @steem-ua and @esteemapp have also gone down. The first human curator is @fullcoverbetting with a nice 2.8%, thanks Peter!

Author rewards

The second important thing to take into account is the total amount of author rewards that I got during this month. Steemworld.org helps here, since you can see the rewards of the last 30 days on your account page there (see below). One disadvantage is that rewards are always paid out 7 days after you author a post. That means that the reward data from Steemworld are 7 days behind the Steemreports data about upvotes. To keep the calculation easy, I assume that the amount of upvotes by the different services are comparable for both periods. Since I post 4 to 5 times a week nearly all weeks, that should be pretty close to the reality. Last week I did a bit more Actifit reports, so the rewards will be a bit higher in reality.

According to the Steemworld data, I got 19.74 STEEM Power and 5.16 SBD in author rewards last month. Since not all my posts are paid paid out in the same way, it is difficult to exactly determine how high the rewards in STEEM were. For the calculation I assume that the average price of STEEM was around 0.45 SBD. That makes a total reward value of 31.21 STEEM (compared to 19.41 in February).

Results

In the table below you can find the results of the calculation for this month, including a recap from the earlier months. I only take the services into account that are among the five biggest contributors/upvoters (and Stax because it used to be in the top 5).

ServiceShare (%)STEEM (Mar)STEEM (Feb)STEEM (Jan)STEEM (Nov)STEEM (Oct)
@actifit35.9 %11.201.488.081.670.62
@steembasicincome21.0 %6.556.897.099.3010.68
@steem-ua11.7 %3.652.765.543.062.96
@esteemapp10.4 %3.243.14---
@upvoteshares2.7 %0.840.721.050.560.79
@silvergoldbotty1.1 %0.340.701.781.532.41

Actifit is back on top this month. This is mainly because they introduced the new AFIT to Steem option. You can now exchange the AFIT tokens for a bigger upvote. This works pretty good, although the succes made the waiting for a big upvote somewhat longer.
SBI is back to second place this month with still a big contribution to my author rewards. It however (again) has gone down a little bit compared to February.
Steem-UA is in third place and has increased again compared to last month. This is probably because I interacted more again from February, which made my (relative) post score be higher most of the time.
Esteemapp has gone up a bit, thanks to upvotes that were a bit higher than last month. Upvoteshares has gone up a bit in Steem, because I posted more frequently than in February and because I bought two extra shares. Lastly, Stax has gone down again. I won't include that one in the next comparison.

Conclusion and further thoughts

Based on the numbers, I'd say most of the services are still working well for me. SBI brings in a steady income but has gone down over the months. The Esteem app works very well and gives nice upvotes that are worth a lot more than what you pay them, so it is a win-win. Steem-UA is still a great service when you calculate the Return on Investment. Actifit is a nice way to make more out of your activities and turns out to be highly profitable, especially with the new conversion option.
All other services (including @dustsweeper and @minnowbuilder, which are not in the list) still provide a, slow but steady, return, so I won't be changing any of those.

What do you think about the numbers? And do you have any recommendations for me? Let me know in the comments below!

Thanks for the Upvoters website @erikklok, I did not know that one yet. I also started to convert AFIT tokens for upvotes. Not sure how long it will stay at this level though, the waiting list seems to keep growing.

I have been quite passive on Steemit for a while, but I'm back now trying to build up my own 'guaranteed' post earnings to a higher level. It is quite the challenge and a long grind though, but a fun and enjoyable one. Good luck in April

You're welcome.
Good to see you back. It is always fun to get active again here. Hard work pays off, so I expect you to do well. Enjoy!

I'm not sure whether it works good on a Smartphone. A desktop or tablet seems to work better.
