I heard that Hollywood accounting usually works the other way around: they want to exaggerate the amount of legal money they're spending, e.g. by overpaying affiliated companies for services, so as to avoid paying taxes or sharing profits. But cash kickbacks can play a role there too.
Sure can! Yes, Hollywood has a lot of creative accounting. I think that the use case is kind of small, say for independent productions that need to fly under the radar or in cases where people need to protect their identity.
