As crypto moves slowly into mass media it will attract more people who want to invest in a different way than banks offer. We still have some years but the whole industry is slowly developing and not slowing.
It is very difficult to get on any of the cryptocurrency websites. I had watched this from afar and asked friends and people about it and The most I ever got in response is "I've heard of it and not really sure what it is".
I have tried to get on Binance-I got on but my phone won't support there app. My phone says the app designer is not trusted.
I've tried Gemini but I'm still waiting for approval(over a week).
I've trie Polyniex. I got on but it won't support a mobile app and will only let me sign up with a webcam(which I don't have).
I've tried to get on Blocktrades but my phone or safari or something won't even bring up the website. So I borrowed my son's phone and was able to get on the website but once I got near completion it gave me another lock symbol. No success there either.
I tried gdax and had no success there.
I was able to get on coinbase. I bought some lite coin and it took a week for it to get in my wallet. I bought some btc and it took a week just for it to debit my account and at this point I won't get it until Jan 3rd.
Ok. So HOW can I possibly go to someone and tell them this is great technology. If I suggested this investment to a friend or family and cited all of the latter examples I think they might think I'm either drunk or pulling some kind of joke.
I can tell you for certain if I went with this information to someone who is not knoweledable and especially older people they would probably not invest in this.
New technology that is so great should be easier, faster, and be able to be explained in a few sentences. I probably would have a lot more invested in cryptos by now if it was simpler to do.
It scares me that it takes so long. I haven't tried to sell any yet but it will be a bummer to wait 2 weeks for my money.
I'll invest more but feel I've missed the boat. I believe that many will try and give up on purchasing because of the difficulties involved in it.

Its not fear its the fact crypto's are worthless ponzi schemes
Steem it is different because it pays ppl for content but until u get silver in your hands from it, its all just a worthless mario coin or a casino chip
