Hello steemians, Im pretty excited as I just got a mail telling me the EOS token is now available for distribution! . . . . . . . .in 4 days anyway.

So I was redirected to the eos.io page, (which is awesome by the way!), where a number ofterms and conditions where given to be accepted before proceeding. The most interesting of which is;

I dont fully understand this, but apparently from the terms and conditions I read, it appears US citizens are not currently being accepted.
If someone knows about that, please explain below!

The longest ICO so far

• The EOS Token distribution will take place over 341 days starting on June 26, 2017 at 13:00 UTC. 1,000,000,000 (one billion) EOS ERC-20 compatible Tokens (“EOS Tokens”) will be distributed according to the schedule below.

Thats an official quote from the site. Apparently the token sales are going to take place over a period of 1 year. . . . .or thereabout.

Still learning

I'm still relatively new to crypto in terms of application of the services they provide, but EOS is looking to be a power house for developers who wish to create Dapps (decentralized applications).

Im not much of a developer, but I do have friends who are interested in this, and hope to see apps pop up on the EOS platform.
Apart from that, its also looking like the steemit platform may be able to run on it as well,though I doubt steemit is going to leave the graphene foundation on which its currently running.

Im also viewing EOS like a decentralized operating system so as to give me a better view of it, from the little I know about it, It should be able to host coinapps (coins which run as apps ?) simultaneously, just like the way windows or any other OS runs multiple apps at the same time.

Im prepared to buy some EOS, are you?!

How to prepare

The easiest way to get started, that is if you've not started trading ether yet, is to get into the EOS site and follow the instructions there.
You'll also need Chrome and the chrome extension metamask.

What now?

So what do y'all think about EOS and its potential, I doubt its dead on arrival, seeing as its being pushed by Dan. . . . .
