Whats Up With Vertcoin?
Whats up with Vertcoin?? It's going a bit crazy even over the bitcoin gold hard fork. The prices skyrocketed against the trend of most other alt coins and increased with BTC, this is not normal at all. It dropped but very close to BGH fork time then back up, makes me think the fork interrupted it's progress.
It has caught my attention and I'm really wondering why. It's one not boasting a crazy high ICO or hyped as many as others.
From what I understand it's very similar to litecoin but ASIC resistant, meaning the average joe can in essence mine it and it's not mining farms all the way dominating.
Is this all based around the next next bitcoin split on 18/11?
Segwit (Current BTC) is against an ASICBoost
Segwitx2 is for an ASICBoost
Vertcoin is actively pushing hard on atomic swaps. It's the next step, for sure, being able to swap between any coin without the need of any exchange or centralised entity. Atomic swaps Vertcoin to litecoin are in the works which is awesome.
There is no doubt whomever gets atomic swaps up and running will gain massively. Conversely they will start to be under a microscope from all centralised exchanges, which the majority of people use, and Stock markets with not be happy to say the least.
It has many things going for it but are the increases around the segwit / segwitx2 fork or the atomic swap? Or a mix of both?

Lightning network in development - this idea I love and what it can do.
Stealth Address are interesting but in development. Monero is king here from the wanacry randsomware attack, they moved BTC to monero. (Privx and Verge are others all about stealthy addresses)

The wannacry hack also demonstrates how bitcoin is not an anonymous tool for criminals the world over, far from it. The hackers used bitcoin as a means of payment and it was tracked. A CENTRALISED exchange, Shapeshift, allowed the bitcoins to disappear and be changed into monero. The UK home office today stated it ''quite strongly'' believed North Korea was behind the attacks with no evidence at all.

Maybe GCHQ, NSA, CIA etc have cracked monero, If North Korea did it they would show the evidence, something on a blockchain hint hint.
What do you all think?
I Invested in a small amount of the coin but still really not sure about it's future.
Is it the fact it has many different things going for it that makes it attractive or is something standing out?
It certainly appears to be focusing around a true decentralised idea.
